Granny Square

Crochet Vest

Anchor threads
Crochet hook 2.0 mm
Crochet granny square 95 pieces

I ventured to do a vest for my daughter using crochet. It was a great fun in trying out various colors to form granny squares. I used anchor threads to form these squares.Even though it took me a full week to complete this, it was fun all  the way and I throughly enjoyed it.

I crocheted 46 pieces granny square for the front and 49 picesfor the back. I used a crochet hook size 2.0 mm. It was like creating a rainbow with all the colors not just 7. It was a challenge to create the first square and but then slowly I created one square after the other and then here I am .. a beautiful, plethora of colors for my cute little daughter.

It was ofcourse one square at a time.

VINAYAGADU

Indian mythology and religious beliefs is a great subject of fascination and interest for people all over the world . You bet there is a god for every reason, season, purpose and emotions as well. Some gods bestow wealth some knowledge, some courage and list is a long one. Some gods are very good tempered some not so. Vinayagar is a personification of Happiness, Intelligence and very forgiving. Certainly not because of the forgiving nature that I started to make a model of him.

My daughter won a prize-play doh in a event marking vinayagar chaturthi. To mark the occasion of she winning event and vinaygar chathurthi  I made the vinayagar himself using the play-doh .

Basket Full of Roses

''In my heart lies a Vase
With 6 roses
6 roses all for you
With six different colors
All to show you what you mean to me''

Roses was all that was in my mind off late and I dearly wanted to give shape and color to that thought. I was contemplating on making pink roses
using  sheets of crepe paper or even to try a hand on one stroke painting.    Ding Doooong .. Just then I got the idea of trying out clay modeling.

Thats the idea I had been waiting for ... off I went to get clay ..no time I started rolling thin sheets of clay twisting and twining and there I made my first rose petal. That was encouraging and I stared the second petal .. the third..fourth and finally I made my first Rose.
Hurray way to go.

I then made 6 of them. Now what... a vase to hold them .. nooooooooo how about a basket.. yep thats what i did.

So here you have a vase with roses of differnt colors with snow due leaves and ofcourse filled with love.

Thats Basket full of love (Roses)
